True, but most people don’t just call 911 if someone rings the bell or knocks. It likely would’ve been easier to keep them calm for as long as possible. Also what would’ve made them call the cops if they saw him/her at the door? Did they have a large gun? My thought is if them kicking in the door had any meaning, he KNEW they would be scared for a reason if they saw him first. I would think kicking in the door would lead to way faster screaming and trying to call 911. I really do wonder if they knew this person to be a danger, or minimally they would know something wasn’t right if this specific person was at their door. I am a very very cautious person but if i saw a man at my door ringing the bell I would not just immediately call 911. I really have a feeling that when this is all sorted that people are going to know who the perp is. Maybe it isn’t someone too close to them, but someone people could identify.

Before you can repair a kicked in door frame, you must realize the different situations you can be in. First, you have to analyse the present condition of the door frame. Is your door still hanging at its hinges or has it fallen off completely? Does the latch side of the door frame remain slightly dented or has it completely come off? Are the other parts of the door frame still intact or there are many ruptures and clearly visible damage? There may be some innate damage which wouldn’t be visible at a glance and you have to inspect closely to observe subtle damages. You also need to look for any damages to the wall if the kick in has been extensive.
The central case of the mechanism is a crucial part of the uPVC door and is a part often seen to fail, if the centre case has failed, it could mean the cam has broken away, this is the part that the spindle for the handle goes through to drive the hooks in and out when the handle is pushed up or down. With the centre case being a part that fails regularly and often having to replace for customers in Nottingham, we are extremely familiar with identifying mechanism failures with the ability to provide a quick hassle-free quotation. We don't know what the situation was in that house or what the situation was with their guns. The mother and daughter might have had some familiarity with guns but that doesn't mean they would know what to do in a panic situation. Guns are something that have to be almost an automatic conditioned response for someone to be really comfortable using them in an emergency. That takes many hours at the range. Preferably hundreds of hours of shooting. At least dozens of hours. Most women aren't that interested in them to put in that kind of time with them. Frankly they bore me and I go to the range because my SO drags me there and makes me practice sometimes.

Remove the clamps. Scrape off any residual dried glue, using the side of the putty knife. Clean the mortise with the end of the putty knife. If it has become distorted, use a chisel to clean and cut the edges of the mortise so the striker plate fits into it as before, with the hole in the plate centered over the hole in the jamb. Screw on the striker plate.
For problems with the hinges or latches, you can buy such parts and easily screw them in. For dents or wooden damage to the frame, you can bring in new pieces of the same wood and glue them to the existing door frame. Ideally, you shouldn’t repair and replace bits and pieces of the door frame. It is best to replace entire strips of the door frame to ensure optimum sturdiness and security. If there are holes or incursions then you can fill them up with a material of your choice. You can use plies for the wood and cement for the walls.

I would imagine that if anyone had, in the slightest, upset the family recently, he would have gone for a gun before approaching the door at that hour. If I argued with a crazy neighbor or someone had made a threat recently, or any type of upsetting altercation happened, and there was a late night knock, I would anticipate that person and be on guard. Or perhaps the wife or daughter had an issue they didn't tell Dad about. So one of the women hears the knock, and is filled with dread. But Dad being Dad is not expecting trouble, and is taken by surprise.
